Someone has been dumping meth labs into Steuben County waterways, Indiana conservation officers said today. In a statement, conservation officers said a cache of discarded meth labs was dumped into Pigeon Creek over the weekend. Officers collected more than 25 trash bags from the creek, all containing meth labs and materials used to manufacture meth, the statement said.Police believe the bags were dumped late Saturday night or early Sunday morning in the creek, located in Pleasant Township between Golden and Hogback lakes near the County Road 450 West bridge. All the trash has been collected and properly disposed of, the statement said. The chemicals used in the manufacturing of meth can be very harmful, officers said. They said if you see anything that looks to be a meth lab or trash from a meth lab, do not touch it and contact authorities immediately. Anyone with information about the trash being dumped in the creek is asked to contact conservation officers at 812-837-9256 or anonymously at 800-TIP-IDNR.
